Pachinkos and Phobias

Jason and I had a lovely Labor Day weekend together. We relaxed, watched movies, and worked on some household projects (aka "Jason's To Do List"). We re-did our backyard fountain, sprucing it up with with water plants and rocks. Jason also installed a Pachinko machine at the foot of our stairs. My Dad found for us at a yard sale last weekend for only 10 bucks. Jason built a lovely walnut frame for it and we hung it up last night. I just hope my neighbor doesn't call the police on us now!

Anyway, this morning I sat and watched Matt, Meridith, Al and Ann while drinking coffee with my mom and Jason Parks, and there was a very interesting segment on phobias. Did you know the Christina Ricci is afraid of household plants, and Billy Bob Thorton has a phobia of antique furniture?

Here's the definition: A phobia is an intense, unrealistic fear, which can interfere with the ability to socialize, work, or go about everyday life, that is brought on by an object, event or situation.

Well, everyone, I realized today that I have a phobia. The only people who know about my phobia is my immediate family and Jason. I am embarrassed because I know that it is irrational, but it really does affect me on a daily basis. I've had this fear for as long as I can remember, and I don't know where it stems from.

Do any of you have a phobia? Maybe someday I'll share mine with you all, but I'm not ready.

You might just laugh.

Does the Pachinko machine work? Irregardless, that's pretty awesome!

Totally works!! I just need to get the lights up and running. Maybe I should marry an electrician.

Nah, if you married an electrician then you'd have to deal with the butt crack always showing... or maybe that's what you get with a plumber. Either way, Yost is much better.

I have two phobias, clowns and rats. They both freak me out way too much.

Public restrooms...many a time I've been ready to wear a diaper to work. Come to think of it can I borrow Olive's? heh heh heh---Seriously though...public restooms and any type of rodent (mice, rats, hamsters..they are all the same to me!)

I'm phobic of the sensation of free falling. Not afraid of falling or heights, just the "losing your stomach" sensation. So no roller coasters or Ferris wheels. The Matterhorn at Disneyland is ok, cuz the drops aren't too long.
